Tilda card and some very exciting news!

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 21.34

I'm sooooo excited to announce that I am now a member of the Magnolia-licious design team. I have fallen completely in love with these stamps, so you can't imagine how happy I was to get the invitation from them! This is my first card as a design team member, and it's for the March sketch challenge.

You know, I was never much of a sketch person before, but the more I'm doing them, I'm really starting to like them! The DP for this one is Kaiser, and the stamp of course is Magnolia. Cardstock is Bazzill.
I colored her with my wonderful Copic markers and added some ribbon and a Prima flower with a Making Memories brad in it. Oh and the photo corners are from a Cuttlebug die. All of these products are available at Hallmark Scrapbook.

I've seen a few people taking pics of their copics they used, and I know it sure helps me. So thought I would jump on that bandwagon too! Hope it helps you!

Thanks so much for stopping by to check on me today and I sure hope to see you back again soon! Have a wonderful Sunday!! HUGS!

Soggy Day = Lots of Paper Crafting

We have had the wettest, soggiest day here in SC. According to the weather bureau we have had 2 inches of rain, along with a fair does of thunder and lightening. The good news is this weather made me not want to leave the house! I am wearing flannel sleep pants & a sweatshirt and saw no reason at all for real clothes today.

My hermit attitude allowed me to accomplish so much in my scrapping room. I completed the next two bitten by the bug challenges, as well as a wedding card I have been commissioned to make.

The wedding card is for some friends of ours to give. They told me that the groom had graduated from a motorcycle master mechanic school so they wanted to include that on the card. Yikes!!! Brides and motorcycles and tools! This was quite the challenge. In the end, it was unique and a bit fun.

Long time no see ;-)

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 05.14

Days are passing by so fast! It's Saturday, the end of February, I am in the middle of a removal. Just one more week, and I am off to Poland. I am really over the moon to go there, even though I will miss my Heart like crazy! But you know the best is, as a friend wrote me - the moment we gonna see each others again :))))). I remember, last Summer, when I was in Poland for two weeks, and came back, he had tears in his eyes. That was really wonderful!

Apart from moving in with
my Hunk there is nothing really exciting going on here. I am meeting up with friends sometimes, am trying to clinch a few things, which were postponed and am enjoying the university-free time ;).

I am off now to surf the net a bit and array my stuff a bit!
Loads of love!

Hog Wild about the Irish

Happy Friday everyone!!! I've got some exciting news to announce on Sunday, so stay tuned! I just felt like doing a light hearted, whimsical card tonight, so that's exactly what I did! I grabbed this cute stamp I just got from Whippersnapper, and was looking at it after I stamped it trying to figure out what I wanted to do when this popped into my head!

I colored the stamp with my Copic markers (coming soon to Hallmark Scrapbook), and I think it clearly shows I still need to learn a lot more about those! The DP is Nana's Kids and cardstock is Bazzill.

I added a couple Prima Flowers with some Making Memories brads in the center, and then printed off the sentiment from my computer which is double popped for dimension. Used my new favorite MS border punch too!! A lot of you will be happy to see that Hallmark Scrapbook is going to be carrying the Martha Stewart border punches!! And she ships anywhere!! YAY!!

That was all there was to it! Quite simple really! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon!! HUGS!!

Man City 2-1 Copenhagen (agg 4-3)

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 00.01

Craig Bellamy
Bellamy has now scored five goals for Manchester City

A second-half brace from Craig Bellamy helped Manchester City set up a last-16 Uefa Cup encounter with Aalborg after an effortless win over FC Copenhagen.

A strong City line-up were frustrated in the first half, with Robinho and Bellamy hitting the woodwork.

Bellamy shrugged off one defender to finish from 15 yards for his first and good work by Robinho on the left then allowed Bellamy to score from 10 yards.

Martin Vingaard finished to Shay Given's right for a consolation strike.

City were largely untroubled by the Danish visitors and manager Mark Hughes's pre-match proclamation that his City squad was big enough and strong enough to progress was proven right.

Although, in truth, the home side did not really have to flex all their muscles in a rainy Manchester against a team who are still on their winter break.

Copenhagen may have succeeded in frustrating City for the majority of the match, but it only seemed a matter of time until the home side scored.

606: DEBATE
JoshCDIT

And there was perhaps no-one more deserving of two goals than the hard-working Bellamy, who was full of running and linked up well with the equally impressive Robinho.

The first half belonged to City, with Shay Given largely unemployed in the home goal.

City's chief entertainer, Robinho, went close on two occasions and was perhaps unfortunate not to have won a penalty.

In the 19th minute, he headed Bellamy's deflected shot onto the underside the crossbar and then a minute later danced past two defenders, forcing a fine save from the onrushing Jesper Christiansen.

On reflection, it seemed as if Mathias Zanka Jorgensen, who was left prostrate by Robinho as he went through, seemed to handle the ball while on the floor, but the incident was missed by referee Selcuk Dereli.

In the final minute before half-time Robinho set Bellamy free but the Welshman's scuffed shot rebounded off the corner of the far post.

City's frustrations grew as the second half progressed and, at times, they lacked a little patience in their build-up play, with Bellamy in particular being caught off-side a number of times.

The frailties in the City defence, which have been so evident this season, were again on show when Ailton Almeida was given time to turn inside the box and he unleashed a fine shot which went a few inches wide of the top corner.

Yet City continued to threaten, with Shaun Wright-Phillips wasting a great chance in the 53rd minute.

Robinho fed his fellow midfielder in the inside-right channel but, instead of shooting, Wright-Phillips slid the ball across goal for the supporting Ireland, who could not manage to get to it in time.

The much-anticipated breakthrough finally came when Ireland found Bellamy and the striker got the better of Jorgensen to coolly finish from 15 yards for his fourth goal in a Sky Blue shirt.

The majority of the 26,000 fans at Eastlands breathed a sigh of relief and City seemed to relax.

Robinho somehow missed a chance from four yards, but Bellamy clinically doubled the advantage with 11 minutes remaining.

Copenhagen responded spiritedly and Ailton should have scored from a rebound before Vingaard struck in injury time for his second of the tie.

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes:
"We were a little bit off the pace in the first half but, in the end, we won it comfortably and created a lot of chances.

"We've got a group of players who understand the demands that are going to be placed on them now and in the future.

"The expectation levels have been way ahead of any Manchester City team probably in the history of the club and we're dealing with it.

"A lot of teams have gone out by all accounts so let's see how far we can go. Further progression in a top European competition can only be good for us."

Man City: Given, Zabaleta (Elano 82), Onuoha, Dunne, Richards, Wright-Phillips, Ireland, Kompany, Bridge, Robinho, Bellamy.
Subs Not Used: Hart, Garrido, Berti, Vassell, Caicedo, Evans.

FC Copenhagen: Christiansen, Pospech, Antonsson, Jorgensen, Wendt, Kvist, Kristensen (Sionko 46), Norregaard (Vingaard 76), Hutchinson, Almeida, Ndoye (Gronkjaer 59).

Looking for a GREAT Subcription Deal???

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 07.22

I have discovered a publication in recent months that I really like: Cards - The Hottest Trends in Card Making. This publication is by the same company that publishes Scrapbook Trends, Handmade, Beads, etc. Sadly I have found the individual issues to be a bit costly ($20), causing me to think twice about each potential purchase.

Not to worry - there is good news!! Right now there is a special where you can order 12 issues of your favorite of the listed publications, and receive 6 issues of a second publication free. Now, I will say that the subscription price is still a bit higher than you average magazine ($84-$89), but these publications are more book-like than periodical-like.

The subscription special can be accessed from this link: http://www.beadtrendsmag.com/shoppingcart.html?Category=PROMO
Scroll down and read carefully as there are several combination options. I chose 12 issues of Cards and 6 issues of Handmade. I was very tempted to go with scrapbook trends, but in the end I chose Handmade.

Three Clovers Thursday Challenge

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 02.00

Hi everyone! It's Thursday, and that means it's time for our next Three Clovers Thursday challenge over at Three Clovers Designs! Kerry's challenge to you this week is to use B+B+B! What's that? translation please? Ok, it's to use brown+blue+buttons! What a fun challenge, huh?

I actually had no idea who made this stamp because a friend of mine from the UK sent it to me. I'm sure a LOT of you know Dawny from Pink Piggy! Thanks Dawny! And then I saw that Claudia Rosa had used the exact same stamp a couple days ago believe it or not, and she listed the maker! How's that for a coinkydink??? Thanks so much Claudia!! The stamp is by LeLo Design by Stampavie called Natural Boy.

I layered up a bunch of Bazzill cardstock and used my SU ticket punch in the corners. I really like that look. I don't know why, but I do! LOL! Then used some little brads in the corners that I had in my stash. The DP is by Serendipity that I've had in my stash for quite a while.

I added a simple strip of blue cardstock down the right side and topped it off with some blue gingham ribbon tied in a bow. I don't usually do this, but I left this one totally sentiment free to make it nice and versatile. For the buttons, I wanted just an array of different buttons across the bottom, and I threaded them with some brown embroidery thread.

This was a really fun challenge!!! We'd LOVE it if you would pop over to Three Clovers Designs and play along with us! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon!!! HUGS!!

The Wildlife Here Is Incredible!

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 01.11

We spent the day running everyone back a forth from the beach in the dinghy, there is always a bunch of seals waiting for us to either welcome us or chase us away.

Another yacht arrived today with a hardy cruising couple on board.
There are three boats in, at the moment, the other is a trawler style boat from Otago University with some geologists on board.

The Elephant Seals are disgustingly fantastic, they are huge lumps of blubber, wallowing around in their own smelly ‘mud’!
The albatrosses are nesting on the nearby hills. All the ‘teenagers’ group together and wave, squawk and groom each other. While we were standing there, they soared all around us as if we weren't there. They are truly amazing.
There are empty nests everywhere some bearing the tragic remains of chicks that didn’t make it.

The met service people have been putting in new wind instruments and maintaining their gear.

We will go for a long walk tomorrow, Murray (first mate) is coming, so that will make it a slow walk because he constantly stops to take photos, he cant help himself.

We think we will still be here for another day or two.
This place really does something to you, I could see a heartfelt sigh of recognition from someone who has been here many times, when we were coming into Campbell Island. I can really understand it now, it is a truly amazing place.

Jessica

Happy Hump Day everyone! The work week is downhill from here and Friday is now in sight! I think this is probably one of my favorite Tilda's ( I don't say that about each one, do I????) I just think she looks like she's sooooooooooooo deep in thought!

I colored her with my Copic markers (soon to be available at Hallmark Scrapbook) and set her inside a circle I cut with my Nestabilities. The DP is by Daisy D's from last year or maybe even the year before. Cardstock is Bazzill.
I got that beautiful pink ribbon from I Heart Papers, and the buttons are just from my stash. I threaded them with some embroidery floss. The letter from "wish" came from that sheet of letter stickers that comes with the packages of Basic Grey paper. I used the lower case letters. I also used a couple of my Martha Stewart border punches across the bottom. I really love those border punches!!

I sure hope you're not getting tired of seeing me make Tilda cards. I just got a whole bunch of new ones that I'll be inking up pretty quickly. I'll TRY and squeeze in some other cards here and there! LOL! Don't forget!! If you love the Magnolia stamps, they are on their way to Hallmark Scrapbooks shop. They should be there soon, with awesome prices and superb customer service!!

Thanks so much for stopping by to check in on me today! I sure do appreciate your visits, and love it even more if you take a minute to say hi and let me know what you think about things. Have a wonderful day and hope to see you back again soon! Hugs!!

Miss you! Peggy Loves Vintage

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 21.30

This card seriously took me about all of 10 minutes to make! And isn't it the cutest? I don't think it LOOKS like it only took 10 minutes to make! Seriously, I wouldn't have even had the time to grab my purse and keys to go to the store to even buy a card in that amount of time!!!!

To make it, I used one of the adorable files from the Circus CD from Peggy Loves Vintage. Isn't this little adorable elephant too precious? And "miss you" is exactly what it was saying to me. I just printed the pic out with my computer, used a piece of craft cardstock, cut a piece of red Bazzill cardstock and a couple strips of white Bazzill cardstock, tied a bow, and that was it!!! The "miss you"stamp is from Kim Hughes over at Cornish Heritage Farms. I love these vintage cd's!! They take me right back to cards from my childhood. Please be sure and go check them out! Peggy is working on getting her web site up where she can sell world wide, so don't worry! These adorable images will soon be available to everyone! Thanks for stopping by to see me today and hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!!

Life is very Good over at the Bitten by the Bug blog. The design team was tasked with using the LIFE is GOOD cut from the Graphically Speaking cricut cartridge, and wow did they ever show "LIFE is GOOD". Do stop by and check out the amazing projects.

I scrapped President Obama's inaugural photos for my submission. I blinged my key phase while using red, white, and blue colors. The paper is from an exclusive line available at Scrap My Trip. Julie's team came up with amazing election products just for those of us who add moments of history to our family books.

Below are photos of the blinged out Life is Good phase, as well as a photo of the full two page layout.

I hope our LIFE is GOOD this week!!

Life is Good! New Bitten By The Bug challenge

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 23.04

Life is Good, Without a doubt!! I know sometimes things happen to make us wonder, but if it weren't for the bad times, how could we possibly understand just how good the good times really are?! The Bittem By The Bug challenge to you this week is to use the LIFE IS GOOD phrase from the Graphically Speaking cartridge.

I don't own this adorable Tilda yet, I was lucky enough that a new blogging friend, Jacque, sent me some to play with. Isn't she the cutest??? Thank you Jacque!!! I now have to have the stamp. LOL! Does it get any better than having your bare toes in the cool grass on a summer day? It's the simple things, I'm tellin ya! *smile*

The DP is Making Memories and cardstock is Bazzill. I used the Tilda from Jacque and then also used the Magnolia stamp fence with summer background. I colored them both in with my Copic markers. I cut the LIFE IS GOOD out with my Cricut Expression about five times and layered them together for faux chipboard. Stuck some Prima flowers on there with a Making Memories brad in the center, and then put a flourish as a stem that I cut out with my Pazzle Inspiration. All of these things, including the stamps and Copics, are available at Hallmark Scrapbook! (the Tildas and Copics are on the way to them)
That's about it for this one. Be sure and pop over to Bitten By The Bug to see the other designers wonderful creations! Thanks for stopping by to see me and I hope your Monday is going well so far. Hope to see you back again soon! HUGS!
