Gates of Vienna News Feed 3/4/2011Libyan dictator Col. Muammar Qadafi has refused an offer of asylum from Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega. However, Col. Ghedaffi is reportedly considering possible mediation by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who has offered to broker peace negotiations to end Libya’s civil war.

Arid Uka, the Kosovar-German jihadist who killed two American soldiers in Frankfurt, is now believed to have developed an extensive network of radical Muslim connections over Facebook. Facebook was also an important factor in the organization of today’s “Day of Rage” in eastern Saudi Arabia, in which the Shia minority protested their treatment at the hands of the Sunni governing authorities.

Another Facebook-organized protest took place in Croatia, where demonstrators took to the streets of Zagreb to burn EU flags, complain about government corruption, and protest the concentration of property in foreign hands.
