Boy am I ever showing my age with that title, huh?? LOL! Isn't she cute? First, before I forget, I've got to give a big shout out to my design team sista Suzy! Suzy has been making these adorable cards with her Nesties. Now I read somewhere a while back that making cards with your nesties was easy. But I had never tried it. But with lots of fabulous inspiration from Suzy, I came home tonight after work and did one. OMG, I love it! Sooooo quick and easy, and I'm a fiend for shaped cards anyway! I will be making lots more of these. I'll tell you that right now! LOL! But for now, this is what I came up with for Three Clovers Thursday Challenge by Kerry over at Three Clover Designs. Her challenge for you this week is to make a shaped card. Any kind of shape as long as it's not a square or rectangle. LOVE that kind of challenge.

I used this adorable Tilda with garland in her hair. I just LOVE her! I know...I know...I love them all...but I really do LOVE her! LOL! I also used the cute butterfly background stamp that is from the Chasing Butterflies collection. So cute! The stamps are colored with my Copic markers (pic below). All of this is available at Magnolia-licious!

Also did a quick faux chipboard word of "hi" with my Sesame Street Font cartridge with my Cricut Expression. Did a very simple decoration for the inside of the card too. This little cutie will be up for sale in my etsy shop if you're interested.

That's it for this one. Very quick and easy! Whatcha think?? Be sure and visit Three Clovers Designs to check out the challenge and the wonderful examples from the awesome Inspiration Team. Thanks lots for stopping by to see me tonight, and I sure hope to see you again soon! Have a fabulous weekend!!!! Big hugs!

Graduation word book

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 07.30

This was made for a friend and cohort that I work with. It's for her daughter that is graduating from High School this year. I've been working on this for a while, so I'm very relieved to finally have it finished. WHEW!!! I cut the word book with my Pazzle and word book cd which I purchased from Hallmark Scrapbook. All the DP is the FABULOUS Basic Grey Lime Rickey line. I fell in love with it and felt it would be perfect for this. I hope they agree. :) It's all put together with my Bind-it-all.

I used several Martha Stewart border punches throughout. The backgrounder stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms. I also used my Nestabilities almost all the way through it.

B was cut with my Cricut Expression. the 4 and the swirl are BG Lime Rickey chipboard.

These stamps are by Kim Hughes, colored with copics.

The ladybug and bee friends is a stamp from Stampendous colored with my Copic markers.

skull and crossbones is from Life is a Beach cartridge, rose is from Indie Art.

Stamp is a downloadable freebie from Dustin Pike colored with copics. The rain clouds are from a Magnolia stamp. Sentiment for this cute bee was computer generated.

camera and flash is from Locker Talk cartridge, the label for the little album is from Fabulous Finds, and the word fun was cut with the Sesame Street Font cartridge.

All of these cuts were from the LIfe is a Beach cartridge. The umbrella was made into faux chipboard by cutting six of them and gluing together.

The clear envies and file folders are by Rob and Bob Studio, and the family stamps are some that have nothing with them to tell me who made them. Sorry about that!

That's it! That's what I've been working on for weeks in my free time from work. I hope they enjoy it! Whatcha think?? Thanks for stopping by to visit me today, and I sure hope you come back to see me again soon! HUGS!
OH! Today is the day for a new challenge by Kerry over at Three Clovers Designs. I wasn't able to participate this week, even though I really wanted to. But please be sure and pop over there to find out what the new challenge is for this week! It's a fun one. I promise you'll love it!

Another Milestone let the work begin!

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 01.13

This morning went from being a fully functioning yacht (without mentioning a few major issues! i.e. the engine not running, the rig threatening to fall down and at one point sea water flooding in!) to a stripped down hull miles from the water and locked up in a shed. It may sound like we’re going backward at a million miles but today was actually a huge milestone, the beginning of the refit.

Thanks to Bayside Crane Hire for lifting the rig out and to Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron for berthing and the use of your travel-lift!

I had to keep reminding myself how positive it all was because it was very hard to watch being stripped of its rig, bounced along the highway on the back of a truck and welded into the cradle that will be its home for the next 8 weeks.

We arrived at the shed just after lunchtime and with so many big flash machines and big tough men hanging around I expected that I’d have little to do but stand back and watch. I was wrong. I was given the job of hauling and the cradle into position, all 5.6tones, training I’m told!

An exhausted Jessica signing out.

I would like to write something really smart and funny, but I am too tired. I am really! I spent the whole day at University, and imagine, at every single course I felt like the class' biggest blundering and born fool. This just can't be! I mean, I am not a stupid girl! But on the other hand, why are these docents treating me like a fool? Especially one of them.. It kind of annoys and angers me.

Back to music and my (still not finished) book. Thanks to Angie for the great music!

Last sail before refit

Finally alone on, for me the weather was all sunny!

Christmas Cards in May

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 11.41

Back in January I set a goal to create six Christmas cards each month so that by the December I would have plenty of Christmas cards all done and hopefully much less stress the first week of December. I stumbled a bit in April and did not make all six of my cards. But today I hopped back in the game and made my six May Christmas cards (with 6 days to go)!!! If I can make four more card over the next few days, I will be back on schedule.

Sadly right in the middle of my card project my Wizard started acting up. I am hopeful that Mr. Doug can get it working for me again later tonight as I LOVE my nesties!

Bitten By The Bug Challenge - book mark with Tilda by Magnolia

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 22.48

This weeks challenge over at Bitten By The Bug is to use the bookmark from the Animal Kingdom cartridge. Wow has it been a long time since I've pulled that cartridge out! I used a Tilda by Magnolia stamp along with a Magnolia stamp of books with covers. I get my Magnolia stamps from Magnolia-licious. Diana has the largest on line selection of Magnolia stamps in the US and Canada. Orders under $50 pay only $2.50 for shipping. Over $50, shipping is free!!

I colored the stamps with my copic markers, and the scalloped rectangle was cut with my Nestabilites. This was a really fun challenge. Please be sure and pop over to Bitten By The Bug to see what the other fabulous designers created. And then grab your paper and glue, and play along with us! Thanks for stopping by to see me today, and hope to see you back again soon!

Rainy and Successful Boat Show

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 19.49

After a shaky or I should say rainy start and plenty more drama getting the boat to its berth, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show was an amazing success. Starting with Thursday night at Rivergate Marina and Shipyards Annual Deck Party where I was introduced by Maxi Wild Oats Skipper Mark Richards and had the chance to talk about my voyage.

Thanks so much to everyone who stopped in to say hi and to see In between all that lovely rain it was wonderful to receive so many ‘good lucks’ and ‘best wishes’. One of the most amazing experiences we had was to have someone come up to express their doubts about voyage and to have them walk away 10 minutes later over come with emotion and with every confidence in the project.

Also thanks to Rikki, Mel, Brian, Tom, Hannah, Pamela, Jen, Suzanne, Bruce and particularly Mum and Dad for their totally gallant efforts handing out postcards and giving Bruce and I the chance to spend time talking to suppliers and existing sponsors.

No time to settle the overflowing head with a hundred and one refit details to finalise and the rig coming out on Wednesday.

Baby Shower Embellies

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 20.36

I spent part of the day creating embellishments for a diaper cake and a matching baby shower card. The women I work with are hosting a baby shower for a co-worker's daughter. A few of us have gone in together to create a multi-layer diaper cake complete with lots of accessories.

I thought the cake could use a few New Arrival cuts to finish it off. I made "It's a Boy" for the top of the cake, along with four other shapes for added embellies. I mounted the cuts on white florist wire so that we just have to insert then into the diapers.

I also made a matching card... and was able to use my new LONG RECTANGLES nesties. The card was also made using the New Arrival cartridge. So ... now that I am ahead for the week, I can relax for the rest of the weekend!!!

Dreaming of home...Tilda by Magnolia

Diposting oleh alexandria joseph | 22.58

Happy Friday everyone! And a long weekend on top of it! Does it get much better?? I put this card together with some awesome stamps I got from Diana at Magnolia-licious! Isn't it fun? This cute house stamp will soon be available, so keep an eye out for it! It's very country, and I wanted to carry that theme through the card. So I picked this cute little Tilda with bow sitting sideways, cause I felt she fit right in with the country theme. And then I just HAD to put her on the log!

The tree and grass were cut with my Cricut Expression machine, which I got from Hallmark Scrapbook. The stamps are all colored with my Copic markers (there's a pic below). I used my Copic airbrush system with baby blue to color in the sky after masking off the house.

Here's a pic of the inside. The DP is by Daisy D's which I've had for at least one year, maybe more..... But I still love it. LOL! Cardstock is Bazzill. I really do like how this one turned out. Whatcha think?

That's it for today! I hope you like my little countyfied Tilda! Oh my gosh! LOL!!! Ya gotta LOVE mistakes you find after all the pics are taken and posted on the blog. Well...we'll just see if YOU notice it. heehee I will say that I'm going right now to fix it! LOL! Thanks so much for stopping by to visit, and I sure hope you're enjoying the three day weekend! Please come back and see me again soon! HUGS!
