You're not going to get many people buying that just because the same tool is available on the internet for free. Yeah it's a little easier to use, but not 49.99 easier. I like Wolfram, I use it a little less than regularly for different things. It's great. Just don't see anyone buying this. Anyone who uses it enough to buy an app like that is probably going to be using it on their desktop/laptop more.

I was able to salvage the instal by booting into SL and finding the .pkg called "lionswupdate.pkg" in the updates folder of the root library. I ran it in SL and selected the lion partition as the target. I am back up and running.

I'm thinking about going all-Sidekick with T-Mobile, so I'm looking into selling my Samsung e105 color flip phone. About a year old, and is in good condition. Can be used with T-Mobile regular service, and also with To Go pay-as-you-go. Included with the phone are euro-adaptor, charger, leather case (cost $25) and a brand new belt clip I bought spur of the moment last week (darn Black Friday!)
Anybody interested? Gets great reception, and (shockingly) I have gone 4 and change days without plugging it in (to calibrate) and it lasted.
Features:
AIM Instant Messaging
Organizer Features
T-Zones enabled
Clear Speaker
Excellent display
Good physical condition.
IrDA Infrared transmitter
Not sure if I'm going to sell quite yet, just checking cash or trade interest. Shipping should be only a few bucks to the US, and I do have the original box and manuals. I have dealt with many people on MR forums and have eBay feedback under skokerz101.

Start with the normal stuff.... zap pram/nvram, reinstall OS X, then call AppleCare.
And repairing permissions, slightly less drastic than an OS install.

Does anyone know if iPhone safari automatically delete your browsing history without you doing it?
Also, is it possible to retrieve/view deleted browsing history on safari's iPhone?
Thanks a million!!

I have a G5 with OSX 10.3.7 and I'm having the worst time with it. It wasn't so bad before but for some reason now, the WMV3 Codec is appearing in almost every video I want to watch on my Macintosh. Usually it gave itself away when files have the "WMV" type attached, but lately the codec is masking itself into even my trusted AVI files.
I've tried every possible solution, I've tried Windows Media Player, VLC Player, MPLAYER, etc. I've even tried converting the WMV file type to something else but the programs on Macintosh can't do it. I tried calling Apple Support but they wanted $50.00 just for me to talk to somebody. Is there any way to play this type of file? What, am I going to have to run out and conform to a horrible PC because of it? It's bad enough Macro Media Flash Player is trash on the Macintosh, but if I can't even view movies....what's the point anymore of having Macintosh? God knows I love the thing but really, this is just annoying :(
You probably weren't aware that Flash files (.swf) can be played in QuickTime Player just like any other movie, were you?
Regarding Windows Media format...
1. Microsoft makes a version of Windows Media Player available for Mac users just because they're probably required by law/contract to do so.
2. Microsoft cripples the Mac version because they can, and because the part of Microsoft outside their Mac Business Unit wishes the Mac would just go away.
This is why I avoid Windows Media format like the plague. I avoid AVI for much the same reason - there's no easy way to know what codec the AVI uses. IMO, AVI is a stupid idea - having a container format that can use just about any codec is bound to cause confusion. The QuickTime MOV format, the RealPlayer format, and even the WMV format are better than AVI because you have a much better chance of being able to play the file assuming you have the latest version of the player.

Yep, wrong forum... good luck on getting an answer. You should consider moving this to the video section, or get on google to find your answer. Also, there are dozens (if not hundreds) of websites that cater specifically to digital video. MacRumors, while having many users with varied skill sets, you'll find that most are just consumers who happen to love Macs. I would say that the majority of people who come to MacRumors don't even know what After Effects is or what it's used for.

Hmm, strange idea, but it might work.
All depending on how long this whole farmville/etc. fad will last...
But I can play Farmville on my iPhone/iPod if I were into it. Will a non-gamer wanna fork out hundreds of dollars for the experience?
It kind of looks like a Pandora.... though not as pretty, which says something since the Pandora is ugly (though oh so cool)

That is great. It has DVI and DisplayPort. Since mDP to dual-link DVI adapter is 99$, just get a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort (http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10246#1024606) cable for 5 bucks. Use that for the MBP and then DVI for the PC. Pretty much all GPUs have dual-link DVI anyway and a dual-link DVI cable is something like 5 bucks too.
I have that cable and it works well, but there is still the keyboard/mouse, usb etc. I guess it's not a big deal to switch a single cable between the laptop & the desktop. BUT, I just upgraded my wife to a 27" led and realized I still have an older 24" led cinema with the power adapter/etc that I still have not sold. I'm going to just put it on a separate desk. Don't really need the 30" for web/programming work, would be nice, but not required. The 24" is plenty for work. Although I feel a little guilty for having a 30" monitor to use just for games, quicken, and off-windows things that are not related to any client (ie any specific VM, I have one for each client I work with).

Galleria is too small!
As for how I am getting Leopard, I pre-ordered it. I had the $100 rebate from the iPhone and for 30 bucks I picked up the upgrade. Only thing I wish was that I could have ordered it on Amazon WITH my $100 rebate which would have made it $9.
Now if I can somehow speed up time so that it can come tomorrow.
I'll be at West County waiting for my T-Shirt!

Well I'm 34 and have been gaming since commodore 64's were released. I'm not really into games of this kind but I have to say it's probably the greatest game i have ever played. Possibly with the exception of "elite". In fact I sold my 360 because the game was taking over my life......when i deleted my saved games there were over a thousand of them.....
Hah, that's pretty impressive! So is the description of it's open endedness pretty accurate? I enjoy MMO's, well I enjoy parts of MMOs. I am probably one of the few people who like the idea of an open world with lots of quests and 'mini-adventures' (basically a series of related quests) but not necessarily any larger storyline (not adverse to them, but would rather have a couple mid-sized stories, and lots of smaller adventures than one big story). But, I don't like the time suck that is the MMO. I don't even mind the "grinding" when it's done in the path of a quest like WoW, but I don't like the feeling of having to group up with other people for hours on end to accomplish something.
Anyway, the descriptions of Oblivion sounded a lot like something I would enjoy, but I don't have a computer capable of running it, and I've got to be pretty sure there are at least 6 games out or close to out that I want for the 360 before I plunk down $300+ on one.

Well, these people are of the "creative" kind, and I have tried explaining over and over again how they need to handle these things. No luck :-). Also, I just found out that they have only tried playing the files directly from the DVD I burned for them. Obvoiusly this is no good for high-bitrate-files. I've tried to get them to use VLC, but I am not sure they have the technical skills to download another app and play the files from that :-)
BUT; I do think that I've found something out. In Handbrake the "high-profile" preset seems to have issues with PC's... Perhaps I'll just stick to "normal" preset from now on, and avoid the rest...

I have a Netgear WGR614 v4 in the center of the house. With the Dell laptop (P4M, Dell 1300 Wireless), I can get about 15 feet away. With the PB, I can get about 50 feet. With the iBook... about 120 feet. Although, when I'm that far with the iBook I need to be careful not to move around much because the signal drops drastically when walking about at that range.
But I would really recommend an Airport Express. And in fact, in a couple of minutes, I am ordering one. I'll use it when I'm at school and not around the WGR614 (and for now as an Airtunes station). The Airtunes benefit and the compactness of the AExpress is fantastic and the range is on an equal level to my Netgear (I've done the same testing for signal strength with the AExpress but it was in a different setting so the conditions wouldn't correspond well).

Thanks for the compliment 100Teraflops. The mini shown there is an Ork scrap prospector, circa late 1990's. I really like the pewter Ork models from that era
Most of the minis I work with are Games Workshop products. Their Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 games definitely inspired much of the Warcraft/Starcraft concept art. So much that there are supposedly lawyers involved. The story goes that Blizzard wanted to make the Warhammer strategy games, but GW had other developers lined up to make them. So Blizzard sort of tweaked things enough to call it their own game. There are still tongue in cheek references to the Warhammer universe in WoW and other titles :D
@ Full of Win, I didn't know a reverser ring was an option. I'll definitely look into that!
@ gnd, Just saw your reply. Might not be able to get away with it after all :p
Thanks for clarifying the origin of the character and the background information. Happy shopping for a camera! :)

I have a G4 iBook w/Tiger 10.4.3 and the problem is that the network icon disappeared from the finder sidebar. Now the only way I can get to network is by going to GO/Network. I can not drag the icon from this finder window into the sidebar because it is an Alias.
I can get to it in the terminal window @ /Network, however that still does not solve my problem. Any help would be appreciated.
